Bond and Mill Levy Override on November Ballot

On Tuesday, August 2, the Englewood Schools Board of Education voted unanimously to move forward with putting a bond initiative and a mill levy override on the November ballot for Englewood voters.

The measures would fund the rebuilding of all four Englewood elementary schools and the preschool building.

The plans for rebuilding the schools meet the priorities and needs outlined by the community through surveys, town hall meetings, and a group of citizens and staff members known as the Long-Range Facilities Planning Committee:
  • Schools that meet or exceed current safety codes
  • A sense of pride in our schools
  • Sustainable/energy efficient schools
  • Space and resources to provide learning opportunities to prepare students for the future
  • Accessible buildings for all kids and families
  • Maintaining small neighborhood schools that have a community feel
