Have you logged into AESOP yet? All employees who need to report absences and/or request substitute coverage have been entered into AESOP and a "Welcome" email was sent to all on July 18th. This includes administrators, teachers, and any classified employees whose position requires a substitute.
Sub Finder was discontinued after June 30, 2015
Frontline Technologies, the provider of Aesop, purchased CRS Advanced Technology, the provider of SubFinder. This means that SubFinder was replaced by Aesop for absence reporting and substitute placement with Englewood Schools.
The login page for Aesop is:
If you didn't get and email (or you lost it :) contact Theresa Romero for assistance.
Take a look at your profile and let me know if anything needs to be changed.
Teachers, you can have your own preferences in AESOP!
In Aesop, each teacher can choose up to 5 substitutes to have on their own preference list. You can choose to have them contacted in order of your list, or randomly. Only those 5 will see the absences 100% of the time. If none of them take the job, then it will open up to the rest of the pool closer to the job. There is still no guarantee that you will get one of your preferred substitutes, but there is a better chance if a couple of weeks before the job.
Like in previous years, if you want to pre-arrange a substitute, contact your school secretary to call the sub directly and assign them. Then the secretary can add the absences and click on "save and assign" the substitute that has been contacted and has agree to work for you in your absences. I always suggested having a first, second, and third choice for your secretary. Good subs are popular.
Here are some great articles in Aesop's Learning Center for you:
Like the past years, your absences that are for Building School Business or District School Business MUST be made by your building secretary and will be approved once the correct accounting code is established for paying the substitute coverage. All of these absences automatically are emailed to your building principal and if the decision is made not to approve the absence, you will be notified.
Even more this year than last, substitutes will be hard to get. Do you know of anyone with a CDE license willing to be a substitute teacher for us? If you do, send them my way. –Theresa Romero
