In order to meet the needs of anyone new to the district, the IT team has added a one day iPad training on February 5, 2015 from 8:00 – 3:00 in the Maddox Training Center. Principals have already approved this date for any new teacher who would be impacted by iPads in the classroom. The district will provide the sub, and teachers can expect a personal email in January.

Google Classroom

The Technology Department encourages teachers to use Google Classroom. This is a very current tutorial on how to make it work to improve classroom workflow and efficiency.

Prepare for the TELL Colorado Survey

The fourth iteration of the biennial Teaching, Empowerment, Leading and Learning (TELL) survey is open Feb.11 through March 9. Educator and instruction letters, including confidential access codes, will be mailed to schools at the end of January/beginning of February. Start planning how to get a great response rate in your school. You must have at least 50 percent participation to view your own school/district survey. It is important to remind staff of the anonymity of the survey.

The Cities of Sheridan and Englewood invite you to participate in “Englewood Forward”, a series of related planning projects that directly impact the future of your communities.

Englewood Comprehensive Plan Update: An update to the 2003 Comprehensive Plan, the process will build on the vision for Englewood’s future, addressing land use, housing, parks and open space, business and employment, transportation, environmental quality, and cultural arts. It will also incorporate sustainability and active daily living and healthy eating principles.

Englewood Light Rail Corridor Next Steps Study: A follow-up to the Englewood Light Rail Corridor Station Area Master Plan adopted in 2013, this project investigates design alternatives in both Englewood and Sheridan to improve connections to the nearby light rail stations and a strategic plan to foster transit-oriented development.

Walk & Wheel Master Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan: Building on the community-wide bicycle route signage program completed in 2012, this plan will identify Englewood’s top priority projects for making upgrades to the bicycle and pedestrian networks throughout the community.

Citizens are encouraged to participate in the Englewood Forward public process and to provide input and feedback to assure the three studies reflect community interests and desires. Plan to attend the next open house meeting for information on all three Englewood Forward planning studies.
